๐ Where Is The Dwell Hotel?
Address: 120 E. 10th Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402

Located downtown and just a short walk to the best food, bars, and attractions in Chattanooga, itโs the perfect home base for a Scenic City weekend.

โจ First Impressions: A Hidden Treasure Behind Historic Doors
You might walk right past itโthe exterior blends beautifully into downtown Chattanoogaโs historic architecture. But step inside and itโs a whole different story.
Neon lights, bold colors, mid-century decor, and vintage oddities fill the lobby and hallways. Every corner feels like a curated moment (though professional photography is prohibited in public areas, FYI).
This isnโt your average boutique hotel. This is The Dwell Hotel Chattanoogaโand itโs proud of being a little weird in all the right ways.
๐๏ธ Lounge in the Lobby
The lobby area feels like a retro cocktail party waiting to happenโthink plush seating, vintage vibes, and an Instagram-worthy color palette of greens, pinks, and yellows. Itโs chic but still cozy.
Steve and I found ourselves just hanging out down here, soaking in the detailsโsome random, some delightful, and all perfectly placed.
๐ธ Drinks at Matilda Midnight: Chattanoogaโs Coolest Hotel Bar?
Weโve always loved downtown date nights, but sipping drinks under the twinkling ceiling of Matilda Midnight, The Dwellโs on-site bar, made it feel extra special. The vibe is glam, moody, and a little magical.
Pro tip: Even if youโre not staying here, come for a cocktail. The vibe alone is worth it.
๐๏ธ Rooms at The Dwell Hotel Chattanooga
There are just 16 rooms, and each one has its name, style, and theme. No two are alike.
We stayed in Room #38 โ The Puzzle Room, and it came with hardwood floors, a romantic soaking tub, and views of Chattanoogaโs historic rooftops. The bed was plush, the sheets were crisp, and yesโthere was even a chocolate-dipped Oreo. Little touches like that win me over every time.
๐ก What Makes The Dwell Hotel Stand Out?
- Only 16 individually designed rooms
- Bold, funky mid-century decor
- Quiet but central location
- Fun, stylish staff
- Instagram-worthy (but not overly precious) vibes
- Romantic touches & thoughtful design
Any Downsides to booking a stay at The Dwell Hotel?
If I had to point out one downside to The Dwell Hotel, it would be the locationโnot because itโs bad, but because there are hotels in Chattanooga with a more central spot. While The Dwell is still within walking distance of many downtown attractions, itโs slightly tucked away compared to other options like The Hotel Chalet at the Chattanooga Choo Choo, which is right in the heart of the Southside district.
Still, if you donโt mind a short stroll (or a quick rideshare), The Dwellโs style and atmosphere more than make up for its quieter setting.
๐งณ Final Thoughts from a Local
Iโd wanted to stay at The Dwell Hotel Chattanooga for years. When the opportunity came upโcoincidentally during a photography session with a fantastic Chattanooga coupleโI jumped at it.
And you know what? It was even better than I expected.
If youโre looking for a unique place to stay in Chattanooga with a splash of glam and a whole lot of character, this is it. Youโll leave with a smile, a story, and maybe a few great photos (from the approved areas, of course).
