๐Ÿจ First Impressions

A Hotel That Blends Right In

At first glance, the Hilton blends in so well with the charming historic architecture that you might miss it entirelyโ€”and thatโ€™s part of the appeal. This isnโ€™t a big, flashy hotel. Itโ€™s a tasteful, thoughtfully designed property that fits perfectly with the cityโ€™s old-world vibe.

We pulled right up for valet parking ($40 per night, and required), which felt like a fair deal considering parking in downtown St. Augustine can be a bit of a headache.

Inside, the lobby is small but elegant, and the staff couldnโ€™t have been more welcoming. One team member even gave Steve a local tip on where to find the best oysters in town (spoiler: he found them and was very happy about it).

Between the warm hospitality, ideal location, and historic charm, itโ€™s easy to see why the Hilton Bayside is considered one of the Best Hotels in Downtown St. Augustine Florida.

We stayed in Room 214, a corner suite with a private balcony and a lovely side view of the Matanzas Bay, the Bridge of Lions, and cobblestone streets below.

The room was spacious and airy, with a very comfortable king-size bed. While the furnishings were minimal, we had everything to relax and enjoy the space.

We were slightly concerned about noise, being in the heart of downtown. But truthfully, St. Augustine winds down pretty early, and we werenโ€™t bothered.

We only had breakfast at the hotelโ€”just one morningโ€”but it definitely hit the spot. Steve and I both ordered the yogurt and fruit parfait, which was fresh and tasty. But the real star? One of the best croissants Iโ€™ve ever had. Flaky, buttery perfection.

The breakfast room was cozy, and service was prompt and friendly.

Wi-Fi was free, worked well, and we had no issues staying connected.

The king bed was super comfortable, and while the room felt slightly sparse, it was clean and peaceful. Our only tiny critique? It might be time to refresh the pillows and towelsโ€”just a little worn, but not a dealbreaker.
